Female urology in Tijuana: incontinence, infections and bladder care
Leaking when you cough or laugh is not “just age” or “just motherhood,” and infections that come back every month have a cause. They can be studied, treated and, in most cases, improved.

What we treat
Female urology deals with urinary incontinence, recurrent infections, overactive bladder and pelvic floor reconstruction when there is prolapse. Incontinence and prolapse often coexist or appear one after the other.
Many women arrive after years of adapting: daily pads, mapping restrooms, avoiding exercise. The first step is telling which kind of problem it is, because stress incontinence and urge incontinence are treated differently.

Common questions
Can incontinence be treated without surgery?
Often, yes. Guided pelvic floor training, habit changes and medication solve or improve many cases. Surgery is reserved for when that is not enough, and today it is usually an outpatient procedure.
Why do I keep getting UTIs?
Three or more infections a year are considered recurrent and deserve a workup: urine culture, a review of habits and sometimes an ultrasound. Treating each episode with a different antibiotic and no culture tends to make things worse.
Can I see a urologist while pregnant?
Yes. Urinary infections and flank pain during pregnancy should be seen promptly, and there are tests and treatments that are safe in pregnancy. Always tell us if you are or might be pregnant.
