Urologic oncology in Tijuana: early detection changes everything

Prostate, kidney, bladder, testicle and penis. Most urologic tumors are found at a checkup or through a symptom that seemed minor. We study your case, explain the options and, if you already have a diagnosis, offer a second opinion.

What we treat

Urologic oncology focuses on diagnosing and treating tumors of the urinary tract and the male reproductive system. Painless blood in the urine, a lump in a testicle or a rising PSA are reasons to be seen soon, not to panic: the cause is often benign, and only a workup can tell.

When there is a tumor, the plan depends on its type, size and whether it is localized. Some cases are only monitored, others are treated with surgery—laparoscopic and organ-sparing whenever possible—and others are managed together with medical and radiation oncology.

FAQ

Common questions

Does a high PSA mean cancer?

Not necessarily. PSA also rises with benign enlargement, infections and after some procedures. A high value means more study is needed; it is not a diagnosis.

I saw blood in my urine once and it went away. Should I come in?

Yes. Visible blood in the urine should always be evaluated, even after a single painless episode. Most causes are benign, but it is the most common symptom of bladder and kidney tumors.

Do you offer second opinions?

Yes. Bring your imaging, pathology report and any lab work. We review the diagnosis and the treatment alternatives so you can decide with full information.
